The Cathy Pelly Trust gives grants to organisations and individuals working for social change in New Zealand and in the New Zealand family of South Pacific nations.
Grants are one-off, are usually between $500 and $5000, and are given in a quinquennial cycle (once every five years). Grant applications open again in 2021.
The Trust was established in 1985 to “Assist persons or groups, especially young people, who with a degree of risk to themselves and as part of a quest for a new spirituality, are working for social change between women and men, people of different races, poor and rich; and who are working for the abolition of nuclear weapons”.
